El último trabajo de Janis Joplin salió a la venta el 11 de enero de 1971, tres meses después de su muerte. Con el nombre de “Pearl”, incluía temas como su versión de “Me and Bobby McGee” o “Mercedes Benz”. Más de 40 años después de este disco tan significativo en su biografía, la discográfica Legacy Records saca al mercado “The Pearl Sessions”.
Se trata de un doble CD en el que se incluye el LP remasterizado, versiones alternativas, descartes, y material inédito de las sesiones de grabación, como conversaciones en el propio estudio. El disco fue originalmente producido por el famoso Paul Rothschild, muy conocido por su trabajo con The Doors.

La banda de Tennesse Kings of Leon estará visitando España en febrero promocionando su cuarto disco, “Only By The Night” (Sony/BMG, 2008), editado el 23 de septiembre, y cuyo single ‘Sex On Fire‘ se convirtió en un éxito inmediato.
Integrado por los hermanos Nathan Followill (batería, cowbell y coros), Caleb Followill (cantante y guitarra rítmica), Jared Followill (bajo) y su primo Matthew Followill (guitarra líder), el grupo tomó este nombre en honor a su abuelo Leon, y tiene un sonido claramente sureño con profundas raíces religiosas (el padre de los tres hermanos es predicador).
“Only By The Night” fue grabado en los míticos Blackbird Studios de Nashville (Estados Unidos), una especie de meca del rock sureño y el country, y cuenta con la producción de Angelo Petraglia y Jacquire King.
